The first US manned space flight from Venus crash lands in Sicily and causes them to lose their precious cargo of reptilian eggs. An Italian zoologist takes possession of them and watches as one hatches to reveal a rapidly-growing monster that eventually threatens the entire city of Rome. The zoologist’s American granddaughter Marisa and returned astronaut Calder must battle with the American and Italian military to corral the creature before it destroys everything in its path.
